Big weekend!

I have big weekend plans. I’m heading to a wedding. I’m going alone because the rest of my family has plans of their own. The wedding’s about 8 hours away so there is a lot of traveling involved. Long way to go for a wedding you say? Must be family? Well yes and no. You see I’ve never met the bride or the groom. My family connection? I’m family by internet. Ronnie posted some magazine covers from the 50’s that showed men in charge. I grew up with them. They were commonly found at automotive supply stores and I was a frequent customer of such places. This was before Playboy. During the same decades, there were ads for various products such as these. Tape Worms?  Well at last they are sanitized. Ladies you have certainly come a long way.

Friday at camp

Friday night was the night TJ requested I wear my school girl outfit, which I did and it looked great. TJ made an awesome dinner by the campfire and then we headed up to the lodge for the evening festivities. There was a special ops theme that night where subs were caught, interrogated, and executed (paintball style). It was fun to watch and maybe next year i'll get to play more.
TJ was totally enthralled with the ropes again and watched every time someone was being suspended. He wanted to speak to the guy who did most of it, but he was unable to catch him when he wasn't busy. Chris and I are about, at least within a couple of days, to embark upon our own little adventure this year. Michelle here. More or less. Very tired. Still. From the festival last weekend, a mini-heat-wave this week during which I got no sleep (no A/C). Add to that a trip to see my parents, I’m flat out.
I managed to MC the festival, but it was one of the hardest things I’ve done. Exhausting without my partner. Who does all kinds of stuff that I’ve never paid attention to. Holiday was long and nice, that is true, but the way we spent it meant very little action, if you know what I mean. There is one event I thought I should tell you about, though.
For about a week we borrowed a car from Felicia's uncle and went around exploring the countryside. Yeah, we are that boring. This particular day we were driving along a rather small road with almost no traffic, believe it or not.

I'm taking a break.  Not sure how long for.  No real reason, nothing wrong, I just feel like a break from blogging
Last time I decided I'd had enough I deleted the whole thing, about 60 posts worth !
Well of course I instantly regretted it and I haven't anything like such an extreme reaction this time; just a little jaded I guess.  So I'll leave it all up here for the time being and maybe I'll pick it up again sometime.
In the meantime, back at home I doubt much will change..............

Heartbreak in Haiti

I can't even begin to put into words the depth of the sorrow and compassion I feel for all that have been touched by the earthquake disaster in Haiti. The poor people who had virtually nothing before now have even less, and the furry ones who were lacking or needy before are even more so now, plus hungrier and thirstier, as are all the people.
